January Give-Away!

Happy New Year, everyone!

The winner of the December Give-Away was Judi of Colebrook, New Hampshire. I’ll send Judi the signed copy of THE FETCH right away.

The January Give-Away is a Grab Bag of five surprise YA paperbacks.

To enter the drawing, email your name and address via the “Email Laura Whitcomb” link on my website (www.laurawhitcomb.com) and let me know if you do NOT want to be on my snail mail list (for receiving bookmarks and other publisher-provided goodies when I have new books coming out.)

 Have a wonderful 2010!

I’m somehow confused with the phrasing of this sentence:

To enter the drawing, email your name and address via the “Email Laura Whitcomb” link on my website (www.laurawhitcomb.com) and let me know if you do NOT want to be on my snail mail list (for receiving bookmarks and other publisher-provided goodies when I have new books coming out.)

… Because it leads me to believe that in order to enter the January-drawing I have to email you through the link on your website, but at the same time, I should let you know if I don’t want to be in the snail mail list?

All I want is to participate in the January drawing for the 5-surprise-YA-books!

Um, do you need anything besides my email-address?

    • Laura Whitcomb Says:

This means that if you enter the Give-Away drawing, I’ll hold on to your address unless you say not to. The snail mailing list is infrequently used — only for promotional stuff my publisher sends me. For SLANT it was a postcard of the book cover and for FETCH it was a very pertty bookmark.

The resaon I need your street address for the contest is that I want to know that I have a place to mail the book before I draw that name out of the hat. I have had experiences before where I email someone back and never hear from them again. (Could be the fault of cyberspace — I don’t know.) Anyway, that’s why I gather people’s physical addresses . . . for mailing the prize out.

    hm … good to know.
what kind of books are given away?
books you own? new books? books with the genre fantasy, sci-fi, fiction? favourite books of yours? ^^

    • Laura Whitcomb Says:

This is the first time I’m giving away a grab bag of books. Five of them. They are just YA novels I have (either extra copies or ones I have hardback copies of) — all YA but not necessarily all fantasy. It’s a surprise. Aimed at my YA reader fans. Seemed like a fun idea.
